Work at Home Fence

The Work at Home Fence - I've been on both sides of it: Telecommuting and Home Business Mentoring -- My work from home experience: I've ... built websites for myself and other people, sold on ebay, advertised on my site, done affiliate marketing, written ebooks, created clipart, created; marketed; and sold my own actual products, hired freelance coders, hired independent contractors for writing. Things I will never do: direct selling, parties.

Are parties right for you?

I work entirely from home, and have tried many things, but one thing I will never do is parties. I never have done parties, I won't even be a hostess, because that is not my thing. My best friend does partylite candles, creative memories scrapbooking, and has hosted for pampered chef, so I've been to dozens of parties in the last few years and have been asked several times to host. In my opinion, some people are cut out for giving parties, others are not. Here's my list of why I am not - if any of these sound like you, I would look for a different business opportunity.

1. I do not like to network.
I would feel uncomfortable handing my card to most of the people I come across, or leaving it at doctors offices or on bulletin boards.

2. I do not have a large circle of friends who enjoy parties.

3. My house is generally not clean enough for guests.

4. I do not have someone available to get my children out of the house frequently.

5. I do not have any extra space for holding inventory.
After my friend has a party, the entire order comes to her house until she *takes it to everyone who ordered*. Especially at christmas time, it can take up a lot of floor space.

6. I just don't enjoy cooking food and throwing parties. I don't like cleaning up after other people.
